1. What the service is

AskTheRef is a private consultation service: you upload a short basketball clip with a question and pay 10 €, and a verified referee provides a structured ruling. This isn't a social network — clips aren't made public.

2. The nature of a ruling — important

A ruling is a referee's educational opinion, not an official decision by a federation, FIBA, or any other organization. It cannot be used to file a protest, appeal, or official dispute. Different referees may assess the same clip differently, especially when it's marked as debatable.

3. Content requirements

• Up to 60 seconds long, up to 200 MB.
• By uploading, you confirm you have the right to the content, or that it's a short excerpt for review purposes.
• You may not submit content unrelated to reviewing a basketball clip, or content that is offensive, violent, or unlawful.

4. Payment

When you submit a clip, 10 € is charged immediately. If no referee picks it up within 72 hours, you're refunded automatically.

5. Response time

We aim to answer within 24-48 hours of submission. This is a target, not a guarantee. Once a referee picks up a clip, they have 24 hours to answer it; if they don't, the clip returns to the queue.

6. Unusable clips

A referee may mark a clip as unusable (the moment isn't visible, it isn't basketball, it violates these terms) and state a reason. The payment isn't refunded, since the referee already reviewed the clip.

7. Follow-up question

One follow-up question to the same referee is included in the price. Additional questions are treated as a new clip.

8. Account termination

You may delete your account at any time. We reserve the right to terminate an account for serious violations of these terms.

9. Limitation of liability

Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific clip. We are not liable for decisions made based on a ruling, or their consequences.
